OUTPOURING                      PART 2: How to Live a Spirit-led Life

(Acts 2:17 NIV) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

(1 Corinthians 2:14 NIV) The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

(1 Corinthians 3:1-3 NIV) Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

Live by the Spirit

  • _________ the Spirit – to resist the Spirit’s direction.

(1 Thessalonians 5:19 NIV) Do not quench the Spirit.

  • _________ the Spirit – doing what the Spirit warns you not to do.

(Ephesians 4:30 NIV) Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

  • ________ the Spirit – follow the leading of the Spirit.

(Galatians 5:16 NIV) So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

You will _________________.

(Matthew 28:19-20 NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

You will _________________.

(1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NIV) My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

You will _________________.

(Galatians 5:22-23 NLT) The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

(Matthew 7:20 NLT) Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.
