Come Holy Spirit | A Power I Didn't Know I Needed | Pastor Veronica Hanash

Conversation Starters:

  • Where would you say your greatest strength comes from and why? (What is your strength? If you don’t know your strength, are you living above or below your potential?)
  • What would be among yourdeepest regrets in life if left unfinished by you during your lifetime? (Take the steps to avoid regret and finish your mission.)
  • What would you say you value the most in life and why? (Of the things you value the most, what do you “prioritize” as most valuable? Does your lifestyle reflect you value your first priority? What do you think your first priority should be and why?)

Reflect:

1.)  Read Luke 4:18-21 NIV: Pastor Veronica shared four aspects of what the Anointing is NOT:

  • A Religious Act: (No true power or anointing)
  • A Talent: (Tapping into and counting on the wrong source of true strength)
  • Permanent: (Taking the Anointing for granted)
  • For Certain People: (An Exclusionary Mindset)

Do you think God meant for your lifestyle to impact others for His cause? (If yes why and how? If no why and by what knowledge are you basing your no upon?)

Visit each aspect of what the Anointing is not. How can living out what the anointing is not negatively affect lives? (In contrast, how can living out each aspect of what the anointing “is” have a positive effect on lives when lived out in truth? Make sure to visit each of the four areas and provide an answer for “each” aspect Pastor Veronica shared.

2.)  Read Acts 10:38 NIV and Isaiah 10:27 KJV. Pastor Veronica identified the Anointing as:  “The Power and Presence of God in your life.” She also shared four things we can do with the Anointing:

Do you doubt your anointing or embrace it? (If you doubt your anointing why do you doubt it and whose understanding are you leaning upon? Are you connected to Christ in loving communion or disassociated and distracted from Him?)

How can you get closer to Jesus and remain close to Him? (What fuels your desire to be close to Jesus?)

What is God calling you to live out today that you may be in denial about? (What needs to go so He can equip you to fulfill His calling? What do you need to usher in to receive His anointing?)

What is your plan to transfer the anointing to others in your circle of influence and how? (Jesus didn’t lead a selfish life; He lived an anointed life of purpose and influence. He poured into the 12 and the 12 started the First Century Church that was used to save countless lives over thousands of years. What lifestyle will you choose to live out as a child of The Most High for the cause of Christ?)

Apply It:

When we put our hands to the plow with a purpose, we will reap in due season. When we live lives of faith and truth, we reap faith and truth in lifestyle. God’s truth is what matters. He is the source of our strength and the foundation for our good health. In Him we are equipped and anointed to live out His Will and purpose for our lives. Nothing is stronger or better than God. When we choose to be close to God, we choose victory through His promises, goodness, sovereign Word, and nature. When it comes to God, we need to know without doubting that He is for us. When we align with Him in like manner by turning our hearts toward Him, He gives us a little piece of Himself during our encounters and exchanges with Him. A little piece of God in each of us goes a long way through us. Choose to walk with God faithfully as He walks with you and He will order your steps in His power, accompanied by His strength, and abundantly filled with His anointing.

Prayer Requests and Closing Prayer:

Ask your group members if they have a prayer request. Write them down and continue to pray for them during the week:

Father, You have always meant for us to live lives of strength and victory. Not to be bound or shackled, but to live abundant and free lives. From day one Your plans for us have been good because You are good and good for each of us in every way possible. Your goodness in us is directly related to the relationship we have with You. Help us take the opportunities we have to connect with You more serious Lord. Help us keep our eyes upon You at all times Father so we can walk in Your never ending, eternally providing, endearing, and enduring anointing, in Christ we pray, amen.
