New Leader Discipleship

Preparing to lead spiritually and emotionally

"If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position."

1 Timothy 3:1 (NLT)

Leadership at Discovery

Leadership in the church is an honorable pursuit, but we are encouraged in the Scriptures to have a season of preparation and discipleship prior to leadership.

Leadership in the church is an honorable pursuit, but we are encouraged in the Scriptures to have a season of preparation and discipleship prior to leadership.

1 Timothy 5:22 says, “Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader” (NLT).

To help you prepare for the next step in your discipleship journey, we want you to complete two resources prior to attending the Leadership 101 and Discovery School of Emerging Leaders (DSEL). These courses will be taken at your pace, and you will be asked to coordinate with your direct leaders to discuss your learning and development.

Preparing to Lead

The Bait of Satan

The Bait of Satan

Don’t let offense keep you from fulfilling your God-given purpose. We all want to experience the life God has for us—so why is it so few of us actually do? In a word, offense. Jesus said it is impossible for offenses not to come. Nearly every day we are mistreated by others—even those closest to us. Left unaddressed, these wounds from past wrongs will wreak havoc in our lives, stealing our vitality and thwarting our purpose. It doesn’t have to be this way. Jesus invites us to embrace a new way of living.
