One of the greatest temptations in the Christian life is to trust our own strength, wisdom, experience, and abilities. Yet the story of Acts reminds us that God's work has always been accomplished through God's power.
The early church faced opposition, confusion, division, persecution, and impossible odds. Yet the gospel continued to spread because the Holy Spirit was leading every step.
By My Spirit is a three-week journey through pivotal moments in Acts that reveal how the Holy Spirit calls God's people, protects God's truth, and directs God's mission. God's mission advances when God's people learn to listen, trust, and follow His Spirit.
What God starts by His Spirit can never be sustained by human strength.

Set Apart
Acts 13:1–3Before God does something through us, He first wants to do something in us. Before Barnabas and Saul are sent out, they are set apart — worshiping, praying, and fasting when the Holy Spirit spoke. God's greatest movements are often born in moments of surrender, not ambition.

Closed Doors
Acts 16:6–10Paul enters this chapter with a plan — he knows exactly where he wants to go. Yet the Holy Spirit closes door after door, until a vision of a man from Macedonia reveals a different direction entirely. What looked like a setback became one of the greatest missionary moments in the New Testament.

Midnight Praise
Acts 16:16–34Paul and Silas are beaten, chained, and thrown into a Philippian prison for following the Spirit's leading. At midnight, in the dark, they choose to pray and sing. What happens next shakes the foundations — literally — and an entire household is saved before sunrise.
